Anyone using iDrive online backup?

I have a friend who needs a free online backup solution. iDrive gives you 5Gb for free (my friend only has 1Gb of data to backup), and they seem to have few restrictions (allows multiple computers, you can backup mapped network drives). Overall I've read good reviews about them both professional and from users.

Just wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with their service.

Thx.

For a mere 1GB, why not just put it on a thumb drive? As for the "what if there's a fire, tornado?", keep one at work or elsewhere.

This person is not a techie and has a bad history of not doing backups. If there's any work involved, he'll forget (forget to swap the flash drive, etc). And yeah, we want something off site. We actually DID get a near miss from a tornado here a few years ago.

I've tried to talk him into Carbonite but he's too cheap to pay, and it's less than 600Mb of data. I want to set him up with a "set it and forget it" solution.
