Just installed it in my laptop (I've also installed SP1 on this laptop as an experiment). I actually have to say that IE9 looks very nice and runs very fast.
I'm still married to Firefox because I could never live without the NoScript and FlashBlock plugins.

I've been running SP1 at home and on the Wife's laptop with no problems. I installed IE9 on mine. It's pretty and fast but like you FP, I can't live without my plugins in FireFox. I'm guessing Firefox 4 will be as fast if not faster.
I'm a bit concerned installing IE9 on the Wife's laptop with GPU left on. Please let me know if your laptop remains stable FP.
