You have to add the user account from the xp machine to the vista machine and set the permissions on it. Also this will be a problem since vista looks for local user groups. You can add your user login to a group and try it. If it connects, you will only have read permissions. If you want to mod files on the c drive, you will have to give the group that your login resides in "full control" and will most likely have to take ownership of the entire C drive with that group or login. This is a high security risk though. To take ownership, you must use the advanced sections of the security tab and fumble around in it. I cant say the exact route since Im currently running on Fedora 9 and dont have Vista installed anymore. I had installed some cracked games and to copy the crack over into the programs folder, I had to take ownership of it with my login other wise vista would yell at me. Not to be too nosy, but why share you entire c drive across a network?

Might try this though...
