Ok.. Got something weird going on with a PC.

I have installed 4 different known working NICs into this PC and no matter what I do (Manual Config/DHCP) it will not connect to the network. No firewalls are turned on, I've run WinsockXP Fix and done all else that I know to do. I even did a repair install and that didn't fix it either. Is there something I'm overlooking? Anybody have any clues? I cannot browse the network or get on the internet with either configuration. Any help/ideas would be appreciated. I'm fixing to try a USB NIC and see if that gives me any better luck.. I'll update accordingly.

u might have a corrupted microsoft LSA, get autruns from microsoft and look at LSA providers

I had that problem on one of my older putes with regular nic cards. Not that it will fix yours, but it worked on mine.

I always carry around a spare USB NIC just for testing things like this, but it really sounds like something's broken in the networking.

I assume you can't ping anything on the network?

Have you tried pinging yourself (ping 127.0.0.1)? If you can't, then TCP/IP networking is definitely broken. If so, try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

If that doesn't work, it's time for a clean OS install.

Yah, gonna be going with a clean install. I tried the USB thing, no luck. But they're upgrading their whole PC, so it should be good to go now.
