Alright, normally my network is set up like this. The modem is connected to a four-port 10/100 router, and all of the computers are run on that. Recently, though, I've needed to use more than 4 computers on my network. I had an old Netgear 10Mbps hub sitting on a shelf, so I ran a cable from my router to the hub, which has a special 'uplink' mode, then I have three more computers run off the hub.
Now here's my question. Since I moved to the 10Mbps hub, my network connection has become slower, but I don't think it will negatively affect my internet connection, since I barely get above a meg download. But I'm not so sure about that. Will it?
Using New Configuration. Will it degrade internet performance?

It's fine for Internet, but as Dopey said if you do file transfers or printer sharing to or from one of the PCs on the 10Mb hub, it'll be slow.
Also since it's a hub not a switch it's a lot more inefficient so there's more traffic on it which again won't affect internet directly but if someone was copying files across the hub, you'd have a lot of packet collisions on the hub and THAT would affect internet access for anyone on the hub.
Bottom line if all you use it for is Internet you're okay. Otherwise get a 10/100 switch. They're cheap.
