WinXP Pro w/ SP2

When trying to access a particular network share I receive the following error. "Not enough server storage is available to process this command"

According to MS an Antivirus may be the cause of this error. I tried adjusting the IRPStackSize, no joy.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/177078/

Only after uninstalling Avast Home Free can I access the share.

Any suggestions?

Also get the following in the Event Viewer.

"Event ID: 2011

The server's configuration parameter "irpstacksize" is too small for the server to use a local device. Please increase the value of this parameter."

The only thing that fixes it, is removing my AV. I even tried 3 different AV apps. The share is an external USB drive connected to the machine in question. All my other shares work fine.

After a few combinations, it finally started working. Not sure exactly what I did. However I did set the IRPStackSize to 18, rebooted, installed Avast, then rebooted again.

Had the same problem with a client's system once. Changed the IRPStackSize to the value recommended in the KB article and it fixed it.
