Disable all firewalls software and hardware. If that doesn't fix the problem then it's not a firewall issue.

Have you tried bypassing the router to make sure it's not a router issue (connect the computer directly to the modem and power cycle the modem and reboot the computer)?

HOW are you using AOL - dialup or broadband? If AOL is working via broadband it's going to be affected by a firewall same as any other browser so I doubt it's a firewall issue.

The big difference between AOL and using another browser is that AOL uses it's own DNS server. IE and Firefox will use your ISP's DNS server, so my suspicion is that you're having DNS issues. Have you spoken to your ISP about this problem?

Have you checked the HOSTS file to see if it's compromised?

As a test to see if it is a DNS server issue you can manually configure your computer to use an alternate DNS server. Some good alternate DNS servers listed here: http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/r ... 5#13155426

As stated by myself in another thread.

It was just a asimple value adjustment in the router configuration.

I simply altered the MTU value to 1400 and hey presto all fixed.

Thanks for all the help
