If I understand you, you have a cable modem connected to a router which is then connected to a wireless router. You should connect a router to a router (it can be done, assuming you're careful with IP addresses, but it's not efficient).
Lose the Linksys router entirely and just use the Dlink wireless router.
BE AWARE that whenever you connect the cable modem to a different device, you must power down the modem before switching the connection. The modem "locks" to the MAC address of the first device it sees when it's powered up. If you try to connect it to something else without powering down, it won't work.
A few cable companies lock your service to a specific MAC address, and you'd have to call them to let them know that you're changing routers. I assume this is not the case with you since you're using a router and you would remember if you originally had to call them to make the router work with their modem.

usually resetting the modem, either by a reset button on the modem or by unplugging the pwoer for say 15 minutes to be sure, should take are of the issue with the MAC Address.
I do agree with Penguin, I see no real need of the Linksys router anymore, unless you need 3 more in addition the the 4 on the Dlink, it will just be more trouble then it is worth.
