File sharing question

My girlfriend has a bunch of mp3's on her laptop . She has them in a shared folder . But when she tried to play them on her desktop 'puter she couldn't play them . Any ideas ?

are they ripped mp3's for instance if you rip an mp3 with windows media player and leave it at default it makes the wma file unplayable unless on the pc it was ripped on, its basically copyprotected, if you rip it standard mp3 format should be a problem at all. I use WMP to rip my cds to mp3.,

Try sharing the folder even if the drive is shared.. I have that problem when I don't share the folder, or just reshare the C: drive..

Chal , the folder is shared , not the drive .
Still stumped

Did you try resharing it? Because on mine, for some stupid reason, if I have new files on the drive from the last time I shared it, I have to reshare the folder/drive to play them on my HTPC from my File Server..
