Comcast cable vs Verizon DSL

Hi all,

I will be moving to the Fort Wayne, IN area soon. I will be leaving Mediacom cable internet to go with either Comcast or Verizon. I know cable is faster by a long shot, but is there a benefit to DSL that I don't know (as I've never had it hehe). Is the Comcast cable experience about the same as Mediacom?
Thanks!
Jeff

I leve in valpo and have the choice of either of them.. and i went with DSL simply because its so much cheaper... i fot a 128 up and 1.5 down for 30 a month... comcast wants 55 a month. + i never get any letters for going over my unlimited limited bandwith.

Depends on your area. Cable and DSL is about the same price here ($42 a month). For the same price as DSL I'd rather have 6 times the download bandwidth.

I have comcast and I absolutely despise them. I live about 15 mins from pugley but I can't get DSL.

Comcast has the stupidest people working for them ever, not that the phone company is much better. I know i'd dump cable so fast if I could get DSL. My biggest problem aside from the incompitent techs is the fact that they sent letters to people who downloaded too much and if you got 3 of these they would kick you off the service. This insanly stupid practice stopped when the cap went to 3meg down, thank god.

Personally if I had the choice I'd get speakeasy DSL its $99 a month for 6 megs down and 768k up. Thats about the price I pay for cable if comcast had a 6 meg down 768k up plan. I don't know if you can get speakeasy in Fort Wayne though.
