bad cable modem -or lines

i got comcast coming tomorrow . to do a test on my lines !
i keep dropping cable INTERNET signal to my computer and modem !
its was down for hours today its up now - but for how long is anyones guess !
i never know when its going to happen - my cable TV signal is fine and never drops just my internet !
so they are to arrive anywere from noon to 2 pm tomorrow - well see i been hearing horror storys about there tech service around here will see !
im using a toshiba modem - i have a RCA i keep for back up but lost the power plug for it so that sucks ! anyway tomorrow im going try and get the guy to swap it out . the toshiba is mine so i know no hope if its the problem .

Usually means a weak signal unless you have a bad modem (90% of the time it's a weak signal). Your modem needs a LOT more signal than your cable box.

Did they come out and wire it or you do it yourself? They need to come out and put a special splitter outside and run a dedicated cable to your modem. The special splitter sends more of the signal to the modem than any of the TVs.

i agree with you 100 % on need to run a special splitter and line !

they redid -the cable lines to my modem - cut out a ton of cable ! also replaced a bunch of connectors inline -i will know in a bit if that repair the problem or just was a ban-aid !
