WARNING... Linksys BEFSR81 v3

Purchased one, connected it to a cable with 1066k throughput, easy enough.

Problem is the thing divides the 1066k input by 8 (8 ports out) and you get
133k at each of the 8 ports, using them or not. No way to change it.
Linksys confirms !!!!

Can anyone suggest a cable/dsl router that doesn't have such stupid restrictions.

I am afraid to buy another brand because I don't know what this "peanut butter"
type of technology is called so I don't know how to avoid it.

Customer is unhappy and in a hurry, can you help me?

Thanks for your time...

I use a Linksys BEFSR41 and it does not seem to have that problem. I think there are others here who use the same router with no problem. It is only a 4 port router tho.

Thank you for your comments!

I have an older module and no problem either, it is a version 2.
That's why I bought another one, and why I am so disappointed.

I would love to hear that I have it mis configured.

But I have checked with Linksys TWICE TO BE SURE, I have no
desire to go shopping again. This may be a new direction
for Cisco/Linksys.
