Ok Guys.. It's been a long and arduos (word?) process, but I've just about got SmoothWall installed on an old 500mhz celery. But, I have some questions. I'm going to be using this machine to dial-up to my ISP (yah, I know I don't need a router for dial-up, but I'm experimenting) and then send the signal to all of my other computers. 3-4 depending on what's going on. I get to the screen where it says "IP Addy & Subnet Mask" Do I need to change these? Or should these be the main, and then I'll assign IPs to each individual machine (XPro or 2K)? Thanks SO much guys, I'm a total n00b here. I'm sure there will be lots more questions to come. Hey Judg3 where the hell are ya when I need your help? lol.. j/j eGo

It says it can do it, just can't use a Software modem. So I dug out all the old stuff.. ISA modems and so on and still a no go. I guess I'll just set the project aside until I get cable. :) Thanx Though.. eGo

That's what i've been doing for the last two years. I just wanted to toy with the router option to see how it worked. heh.. I know there really isn't a need for one on dial-up speed.
