Need help with router...

ok in the router, forward ports 8086 & 9001 to the IP of the server

when I do that the router doesn't work...
doesn't allow me to connect to the net...

it's a netgear RP614

as well, if I try to make all the computers have their own IP's instead of having them obtain automatically it also doesn't want to log onto the net

Hmmm seems to work now (in port forwarding I forwarded starting port 8086 and ending port as 9001 to IP of my router *gateway IP*)

and I am using the net...
so now what?
how do people join a server? on the router IP or what?

do you need all those ports open?

if not I would just do the two.

do you have the game server software running?

and do you have the ports forwarded to the server IP?
