It's a fancy router for non techies - a Google version of the Apple AirPort.

It's primarily intended for Wifi because it only has one LAN port on it.

About the only thing cool about it is that Google is likely to keep the firmware patched and up to date, but there are good Wifi routers for half the price that do the same thing.
