I think my right is flakey. It's a Linksys WRT54G. It keeps losing the connection etc.
What brand/model are you guys using?
What router do you prefer ?

Linksys has always been pretty reliable, but any router can go bad.
I'd recommend you reset it and flash the BIOS to the latest version. If that doesn't help then get a new one.

I think that may have caused the problem. You remember a few days agao I was having problems with my laptop's wireless card? That's when I upgraded the firmware on the router to the lastest firmware. Now it keeps loses the connection, when I try to go to 192.168.1.1 to get in the router I get a blank page, then a few minutes later I can try it and it might work. Just real eratic .
I am about ready to sling it out in the yard

Dopey, I just did the hack you posted and it seems to be fixed now. I just have to figure out all of those new setting options. What power are you running yours at?

I'm using the DD-WRT hacked firmware as well. Been using it for a month. Seems very stable. I have my power set to 50 to be conservative. Routers get pretty hot.
You really don't need to screw with any other settings unless you have a specific need to.
