plexi case

Well, I just got some new hardware, and i'm bored. I decided it is time for some modding... I like my Antec case how it is, so I'm deciding to try something new. I'm going to make a plexi case myself, without any kits or anything. I'm going to design it to look either like a normal PC, or a cube. Anyways, my question is... what is the best way to join the pieces of plexi together? I've seen some rather "make-shift" ways involving giant brass hardware, and i've also seen neat little plexi pices that come in kits. Basically i want the cheapest way to do it, but i don't want to sacrifice quality and sweet ass looks.

its gonna be hard to build one by yourself. you'll find that with the time involved and the proper tools to do it in the long run will be cheaper just to buy one from svc for 100 bucks. You could get thick plexy though 3/8 and drill holes for screws but in order to do that you'll need a drill press with a vise and some titanium drill bits at a high speed so that the plastic isn't chipped or cracked. i think most of the pre built ones come with little cubes that the sides screw into.

I have cut all types of plexi with my drill and hole saw attachment.
I think them prebuilt ones are pretty pathetic. build your self a far better one. Only thing I dont like about them is there is NO places to hide wires or anything.

Yeah, i was going to say, plexi is one of the easiest things to drill through. People recommended to drill through on a low speed... Shouldn't be bad. just need to find some "L" shaped mounting hardware i guess.

I was thinkig do this. drill out like .5" holes... and get some .5" dia. plexi rod and use it to hold everything together. put the glue in the holes then put the pin in and put them together.

all the plexy i have drilled usually chips when the drill is exiting the back side. it goes through it easy but its easy to chip and crack. If you lay it on something that can be drilled through also it helps to minimize that. I should make a nice case out of some oak and have my dad stain it for me. Do the side panel like a picture frame with a window in it
