Hey, here's my case that's i'm working on... It's not completely done, it's a little messy inside, but it's coming along nicely.

lol, i'm not that good. hehe, no i didn't make it myself. i got it form http://www.zxmods.com. It's the Zantec series, they make different ones that fit different antec models. Appearently you can get similar windows from other companies, but i am yet to find one. Those two fans i put in there lower my case temp to about 21C or 69F and my cpu to 38C or 100F. It's amazing what it did, and that's with all the ide crap in the way. It was a little hard to cut, i'm assuming harder than most, epsecially cause you take so much of the case off when you put it in... i lost about 5 pounds of metal cutting it out :) About the fans tho, i have the top one as exhaust, and the bottom for intake based on the fact that heat rises. Is there a better way? I heard it should be going the same way as the cpu fan, but i wasn't sure.

Hey, i had a question... After realizing that the 6 case fans i have, 1 industrial 8,000rpm cpu fan, gpu fan, and dual p/s fans get slightly noises, i'm thinking of installing a baybus. I had one concern, now mor ethan ever, and i can never really get the answer i'm looking for from people. I want to know how you get the bare lead wiring to the baybus. I don't think there is a single case fan that has a wire that will reach to my 5.25" bay. Is there extra wire i can buy somewhere? could i just slice the wires, thread them together, and electrical tape it? I'm looking into getting one, but not if i can't reach a fan to it. thanks.

Very nice. :) Which model Antec is that?

So you just purchased the window kit and cut the panel yourself. What did you use?

As for a baybus, I may be getting this one in for testing soon.

<img src="http://www.crazypc.com/images/fans/bayb ... s6full.jpg">

For extra wire many case fans come with a 3-4 pin adapter and some I have reach another 14-15 inches. But to reach a baybus some wire splicing may be needed. Many online retailers linked from here sell those 3-4 pin adapters. But not all sell the longer versions.

btw, always save a pic as either a .jpg or a .gif. .bmp's are always much larger, as yours are. Especially for modem users. ;)

hey, ya, i have 3 to 4 pin adapters for all of my 6 case fans, but i thought you vould only use the 3 pin wires? I'm not quite sure how the baybus works, so i can't really say you can't, but i was wondering if you knew.

Ah.. that would explain why it took so long to load. And as for a Baybus or Fanbus or whatever you call it. I can make you a custom one if you send me a bombed out CD rom. i built mine that way so if i wan to remove it and put it in anohter computer i can do it as easly as changin a cd rom. The swithc is a hi low for all the case fans along wiht the red/green led. the other 10 leds act as the HD ligh randomly flashing when the HD is in use. Looks neat when its running. I can also include VU meters if you wanted. Your imagination is the limit. so if you want somthing just ask and ill see if i can do it.

The reason the bottom of the bus is crooked is cause the vice on the milling machine i uses was not straight and i was in a rush and forgot to check it.

Thanks for your offer, but i think i'll just buy one from http://www.coolerguys.com. I'm picking up soem rounded floppy and IDE cables there, i think i'll get the Dual Voltage 6 Port Baybus w/ Blue/Red LED, even though it is more expensive than others, i think the performence it gives is worth the money.

Once i've got my rounded cables in, and some other mods i'm working on, I'll put in some new pics. I cleaned up the wiring inthe case with a nice roll of electrical tape, and i'm trying to do a p/s wiring mod, so hang tight.

but i was wondering if you knew.

I have no clue, yet. I might be getting the one I linked to in later this week though, then I'll know. But I've never had one before.

Looks like the one from coolerguys is the same as the one from crazypc.

if you are gana buy the 6 switch one get the one off crazy pc here: http://www.crazypc.com/Merchant2/mercha ... _Code=8295 its a better company..and they send us stuff opposed to cooler guys who said they would and have ASSY customer service.

as for attaching the fans. you need Bare Wires. I usually just pop out the 2 wires needed from which ever plug I use and just shove them in the little holes.

And to save time and make it less diffcult to work with, id suggest using scotch locks. makes doing this sort of thing simple. Id use the 3M UB2A-D for the fan bus stuff.

I like the PC Mods Rheostat bus....

Post by Bigal »

matt719: I've installled four of the PC Mods Rheostat bus devices. The latest series replaced the old cheap knobs with your choice of nice colored knobs. They also give you a choice of jumbo / bright LEDs - blue, green, red, etc. Here's a picture of my latest machine and it's Rheostat bus:

This picture shows you the wires coming down from the Rheostat bus device:
