Intake on the bottom and suckign out on the top?
was thinking of a 120 on the bottom and 120 on the top? worth while?
Im trying to keep the system pritty quiet.
so far every fan I have in there is a .8w 25cfm and something like 23Dbl.
I have 2 pritty quiet 120 mm fans think it will help? Im using a antec sx830 so that is 3 Intake and 2 Out and then the enermax dual fan PS. I also have a fan bracket with 2 more of them silent fans, replaced my chipset cooler with a Large no fan cooler and a quiet sk6. Im pritty Pleased with it but I feel there is to much air o nthe inside not moving or going into dead space where it stays.
Just looking for opinions.
and I figgure a Filter would be the best idea for the Bottom fan 2 restrict dust intake.
Peace
Greg

You could check how the airflows in your case (really easy if you already have a window in it). If you don't have a window, take out the side panel and replace it with a clear piece of plexiglass (just be sure to seal it well). Hold a smoke pencil near the intake and watch the flow

Where can one find this smoke pen? and 120MM fans are loud unless you pay up for a very good one. I got one from 3dcool.com and that booger was sooo loud. Then i got a more expensive one and its much better now. Still loud but it sucks so much air that i can keep a paper sucked to the front of my case with only the 120mm fan in the back

You really din't say what kind of case this is so I'll assume it's either a mid-tower or a server. If it's a tall server case the two 120mm set up you described should be fine. If it's a mid tower I would go with the set up that I did on my case which is: 120mm intake, 80mm blow hole, and a 80mm exhaust.
As far as side cooling goes, personaly I would skip it. these fans do nothing more than disrupt airflow throughout the center of the case. A quality HSF combination on your CPU and video card should be fine. The main thing to remember is that the intake and outake should be equal on any case for good cooling.

the case is an antek 830. so there are 3 fans infront and 2 rear and the PSU. it is taller then a normal mid tower but shorter then a full tower. I have 2 120mm fans I was planing on using. the intake pushes more then the one I was gana use to suck out..so I think it should work just fine.

thanks 4 your imput.

i would not do that
those to 120's will ljsut mess up air flow

well im gana start with the top one and see if that helps enough. the thing is when you go scsi you get extra heat...and I cant stand LOUD fans so I have quiet ones.

I am going to be adding some 120's to the side of my case (Antec 840). Will that screw up air flow, or will it be ok? Cause it will cross paths with the other 5 80mm's I have blowing in. (I may also replace the 80mm's with 92mm fans. Nexus_7, I want to get rid of the fan grills on the case. I could put holes there, but then their aren't any fan holes (because the holes there are for that clip thing). I'll post a picture tonight to explain more..

just drill holes for the screws. that isnt a prob. get soem rubber washers though so U can reduce the vibration. if you are putting in 1 120 down by your cards that should be fine. and one on top of the case sucking out that should also be fine.
