okidokes heres the deal

i got a bp6 with 2 366@550 i'm just tired of blue screens blah blah blah etc etc

It doesn't have to be fast it just needs to be stable.
I plan on making this system soon and losing the celerons

I need motherboards/cpu/ram recomendations If the board is known to crash then don't mention it

right now i have a 5x creative dvd (ide) 12x burner (sanyo scsi), scsi zip, 4.55gig cheetah on a diamond fireport 40 scsi card, and a 13 gig western digital ide drive.

I plan to keep them. If you think one causes crashes tell me i'll sell it get something else.

I have a tnt2 regular that seems to work fine.

I have wintv usb that still doesn't work right in win2k so it's gonna be out of here. I also have a intel usb cam but the latest beta drivers are working good so i think i'll hang onto it.

I'm gonna need 2 nics and a sound card since i think they are part of my troubles as well. Please recommend the best/most stable for sound card. I do plan on watching tvs on this rig. I'm getting it ready for college. Also if you can recommend a tv tuner that would be nice too.

The os i'm going to be using is win2k. If it doesn't work in win2k it's crap to me. Right now i'm having trouble paying dvd's and doing little things that it's pissing me off. I need stability now i'll worry about performace latter.

Well i'd certainly reccomend the SB live series of cards , the older and the newer ones work very well in Win2k , as for network cards you really cant go wrong with the 3Com Etherlink XL 10/100 3C905B-TX , thse work absolutely superb , that good they don't even need drives installed.
you should be able to pick a couple of those up off the forsale forums reasonably cheap around $20 or so each and the SB's around $35/45 for the value.
As for the Mobo/Cpu and ram well your spolit for choice really, the T-birds seem the best bang for the buck if thats what your after , unless you still wanna dual cpu , in that case your better off with either the Abit VP6 or MSI 694d (i think) which are both Intel based PIII boards both are seem very good , Ram is as you know dirt cheap right now a good 256mb stick should fetch youa round $100 or so for pc133 .PIII 's are also getting cheaper with the advent of the new P4 coming out very shortly causing some mass price cutting , which should also possibly affect the T-birds with Amd competing hand over fist with Intel.
It's a damn fine time to upgrade , with prices being so low you really are spoilt for choice!

right now i'm not really looking for all out speed.
I just want stability.

What's the best athlon motherboard out there? same goes for p3 motherboards. What is the best? i want no hassels with trying to install drivers like i keep hearing about the 4 in 1's. I don't wanna have to mess with them.

I feel your pain. i am a former bp6 motherbaord owner. i got sick of all the problems too. i would recomend an ASUS motherboard. For the p3 i would suggest the cubx based on the rock solid intel 440bx chipset (you can only go to 800 mhz at 100mhz bus without overcloking) thats what i have and i have NEVER had it hang. Or the cusl2 if you want a mb that can handle the 133 bus p3 up to a gig. that board is based on the intel 815e chipset. my roommate has that board and hans't had any problems with it either. just my two cents

For stable athlon mobos I would suggest, ASUS, IWill, or EpoX, or MSI. I think all of those are the most stable mobos out there.
