Well if you hook them up to a "Managed" switch you can bond the ports they are hooked up to to act as one... same thing really.

Why would you want to do this anyway?

Well i would prefer to do it with the 8 port switch that i have right now rather than go out and get a new one. As for why i want to do this i am setting up a machine at home as a server for a number of clients around the place i am staying along with the ftp that i am running the ftp will have a nic by itself and i wanted to combine 2 nics together because i am going to have multiple access of files prety much all the time (eg all mp3 files will be on it) and that way i could double the throughput of it to the network and try to get rid of any lags cause of only having 100mbs to the network

you could just spend the money and buy a gigabit nic and a switch with a gigabit uplink port... that'd take care of ya ;)

unfortunatly no one else that will be using the connection to the server will have that and i could probably pick up a dual or quad port server nic for less that it would cost me to do that i was just hoping that there was a way to do it with non server nics oh well
