iPad question
iPad question
I need to replace my approx 5 year old iPad Air. Any recommendations re: which would be optimal? I want something with decent RAM, which I'm finding isn't mentioned much :-( I use it mostly for social media and game apps. TIA. <3

Re: iPad question
Elmdea,
RAM is the same in all models. Only thing that changes is storage size (64 GB vs 256 GB). Doesn't sound like you'd benefit much from the extra storage which adds a lot to the price: https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-ipad/ipad-air
You can also save some money by getting an iPad instead of an iPad Air, but the Air is faster and a bigger:

Re: iPad question
If you don't mind buying a refurbished last generation model, you can get a bit more for your dollar: https://www.apple.com/shop/refurbished/ipad
You may also wish to see if your old iPad can be traded in towards the new model: https://www.apple.com/shop/trade-in#tradeup-app
I did the trade in on an iPhone the wife had that stopped making phone calls. The SIM was fine but something had come loose with the audio chip. All Apple requires on a trade in is that it's in good condition and boots up.

Re: iPad question
Thank you! My current one is 32 GB and running out of storage, soooo ... Definitely want to do the trade-in. It will actually be two of them: mine and John's. Hopefully they'll go for that. A plain iPad looks like it will do perfectly, but they don't (currently) have any refurbed 64's. I'm thinking of just getting the 128 new, which should last me quite a while.
Thoughts?

Re: iPad question
A 128 GB should be fine. For the trade, you'll probably have to go through the process twice but it shouldn't be an issue.
Re: iPad question
Thank you.
I figured I would (have to go through the process twice). They apparently put it on an Apple gift card, so should be easy peasy after that.
