This would be cool for those of you with big non-DRM collections of e-books.

That looks really cool. The only thing I would want is a slightly better screen. They list resolution but ppi is more important on an E-ink screen. I miss my kindle. I had one of the first generation but the wife bought me a fire tablet so I sold it. The tablet's major issue is the screen. On the plus side, I can read in the dark. At the time, a backlit Kindle didn't exist. However, the Fire tablet has a lot of glare. E-Ink screens are the best for reading.

Also, It's possible to remove DRM from Amazon books with Calibre and a plugin. I used a python script several years ago when I has backing up my library.

It would be cool to encase the open source E-reader in a hardback book.
