I'd take the Lenovo if it was me.. But, you get a warranty with the Dell..

Performance wise the Dell has a more powerful processor, although th A6 is no slouch.
Build quality might be slightly better on the Lenovo, but yeah, I'd go for the factory refurb with a warranty.
I'd recommend googling reviews on both of them.

I'd have to lean towards the Lenovo if choosing between the two. I was going to recommend paying a bit more and getting the Acer FP recommended for my daughter. It's been a really good laptop so far but newegg has raised the price considerably since I purchased it.

The lowest I've seen it is on Amazon.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check out Amazon. The Lenovo is 2 years old which is fine. Didn't Lenovo use to be IBM back in the day?

I have a pretty similar Lenovo and it had some issues which cleared up. I know a couple of people who bought Lenovos and had issues. Lenovo warranty is not good from what I hear. there is a Dell person who will show up.

Well, after some research, I ended up buying a HP laptop:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834257665
Nice laptop. Even comes with a real Win7 SP1 install disk and a driver disk. Even though it's only an i3 CPU, it's plenty for the wife who only plays Candy Crush.
I could have gotten a lower price if I went to Costco, but all their laptops have windows 8. The price difference was $30, so I ordered it from NewEgg instead. I was surprised to find out not a lot of junk software installed. They had a link for Office, but I deleted that since I don't need it. Removed Security Essentials in favor of NO32 anti virus. Then I had to install ~150 updates LOL.
