Guys,
Looking for a decent headphones set. I currently have the Optimus Pro 40 (probably a Koss brand made for RS) that was put out by Radio Shack back in the late 90's, and I've noticed that the black cover on the ear cushions is flaking off. I did a search for replacements, but no luck since the headphones are so old.

What do you guys recommend? I do not want wireless. I will be using them with my iPOD Touch.

Subscribed to this. I have an interest what folks recommend.

I have a pair of Sony headphones that I liked more than others I tested at the time but I'll admit that they're now fairly old. Your best bet is to go to various stores and listen to them first.

For listening with an ipod, I recently bought this headphone amplifier as I thought my headphones needed more volume and I like it, helps boost it up a bit. It's not so loud your ears will ever hurt but it much better than being without:

If interested in that amp, don't buy the suggested L9 adapter that they suggest as you don't need it. It sounds best with the included headphone out cords. I bought that adapter, tested it and returned it.

I'd try to call 1-800-USA-KOSS first. I've got a pair of earphones that are about 10 years older than those & they had replacement foam for me. They're usually only about $5. It's hard to find good earphones.

OK thanks. I sent Koss an email. If I don't hear from them by Wednesday, I'll call them instead.

if you need to buy a replacement set and want quality ,and style check in to these. There design by my nephew they do get a bit costly do .

Not to hi-jack but I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 428 Headphones and they are ok, but lack that bass kick that I like. Has anyone ever tried the "Blu- Tack" Mod?

Small update...I just tried my Sennheiser HD 428 headphones on my used HTC Rezound that is equipped with the Beats equalizers after i loaded music onto a micro SD card and wow, what a difference that little application made. It was louder and clearer and the bass response improved considerably. Granted my previous listening was primarily streamed from Pandora & Google music.

An Equalizer is a fine way to fix problem headphones so long as you don't have to shove the sliders all the way up. The "Blu-tack" mod is of sound principle (forgive the play on words). I'd consider going a bit further & throw a bit of felt in there if there's space left.
