help on a acer laptop

before i turn this into a brick .
im loading windows xp on it and it seems to be stuck at 34 mins left. i did a reformat of the c drive and now its seems to be stuck at installing drivers .would it be safe to turn the unit off ? and try it again?
its a acer aspire 3680 if that matters with 1.5 gig ram
the Last time I was Talking to myself . I got into such a heated argument . that is why I swore I never talk to that guy again. you know what it worked now no buddy talking to me. :help

i pulled the battery and it seems to be running the install of xp again .

Run Memtest86+. Bad or improperly seated RAM is a primary cause of problems with installing Windows.

Clean the CD lens. That's another common problem.

Yup, yup. Also, don't worry about interrupting the install too much. Windows does it in sections & will resume from the last complete part.
