They just pushed a Kindle update that gives all Kindles (not just the DX) full PDF support AND the ability to convert PDFs to native Kindle format right from the Kindle (which is nice because it allows the fonts to scale properly).

Long overdue and that just made the Kindle a much better reader. I don't have to convert all my PDF ebooks now.

I blame you FP... I was going to wait for the Nook as a christmas gift for my wife. But something about having to wait till January who know when, 2010 turned me off. So I ordered a Kindle II.

Well I just tried the native PDF and it's hit or miss. It tries to render the PDF in it's original format and if that format is 8-1/2 x 11, the text is microscopic. You also don't get the ability to adjust the text size like you do in a native Kindle format document - you instead get a zoom factory which doesn't work as well. So unless the PDF is designed to be small format you're still better off doing a conversion (either via their email service or using Mobipocket Creator which is what I use).
