A good visual guide to making a bootable NTFS Flash Drive

I'm getting ready to revisit this. Last time (around a year ago) when I tried making a bootable NTFS flash drive it was a real PITA and didn't work half the time.

Most modern PCs support a more-or-less universal standard for this now.

I haven't tried this yet, but I will sit down and experiment with it sometime in the next week.

Anyway, this is a very nice visual guide on how to do it. Something that's been lacking. Most instructions for this on the web are terrible:

Let me know how it works out. Post anything that would help the rest of us.

Haven't had time to screw around with this yet. What I REALLY want is a copy of Mini WinPE that boots off a flash drive. That would be a major benefit to me.

So far it's a no go.. I followed the directions to a T and I get "BOOTMGR is missing". I'm not sure what's going on there. But I'm going to try something else..

Further Findings... It appears that this works just fine with Vista, but getting it to work with XP hasn't been fruitful yet. That is what would be ideal for me is to get it to where I can install XP from a USB key AND have all the apps and software that I would normally install be on the same key for ease of installation. No more fumbling around with CDs or anything like that. I bought a 16GB USB key that I want to get loaded up with everything I need and that will make my life so so so so so much easier!

I'll keep trying..

Ego try XP SP3, heard something about that and usb keys from one of the local nationals out here (they sold me wolverine for 3 bucks good qual too).

Also once i get back I'll find the Microsoft class i was taking out here for exotic XP installs... maybe that would have the ultimate info you needed (i think it was 90-270, installing xp pro)
