Well I'm planning on replacing my s939 system with a new one in the next few weeks and am looking for opinions. It will be used for gaming and occasional light video editing.I will be re-using my 21 inch wide screen LCD as it's only a couple years old.Been using AMD for the last 9 years but I'm ready to give Intel another shot, mainly because all the socket changes since my last build make my head spin.I'd like to stay away from anything MSI,I've had nothing but bad luck with any of their stuff. My budget is $1000 possibly $1200 if I can swing it.

I was thinking of going with something this below.I noticed the CPU/mobo combo isn't available anymore though.

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/C...?ItemList=Combo.203757 Core i7 920 And Gigabyte Mobo $520
http://www.memoryexpress.com/P...s/PID-MX24847(ME).aspx Case and psu $120
http://www.memoryexpress.com/P...s/PID-MX22625(ME).aspx 6gb ddr3 $110
http://www.memoryexpress.com/P...s/PID-MX24233(ME).aspx OCZ Vertex SSD For OS and Progs $230 with MIR
http://www.memoryexpress.com/P...s/PID-MX22448(ME).aspx Caviar Black 1Tb Storage hdd $110
http://www.memoryexpress.com/P...s/PID-MX24620(ME).aspx BFG GTX 260 $170 with MIR

Thanks in advance,

Yeah, I've actually somewhat fallen in love with MSI (for the value vs. performance). However, I'm really starting to like Gigabyte's new "Ultra Durable" series (used in the last few builds).

I just used one of Gigabyte's "Ultra Durable" boards on a build and was very impressed. Not only did the board feel twice as sturdy as others, the connections were very clearly labeled, well laid out and the thing had more features than most people will ever need

just another $.02 worth.

Sounds like a great build. Wouldn't change a thing myself. You could play WOW at 2560x1600 resolution with way over 100fps with that setup. Quite a waste.

Check out Fallout 3 if you haven't already for sure. Heck, if you haven't played Oblivion, do that too. The last few COD games are solid. Anything from Valve.

Yeah I've missed out on a lot the past few years not having a system that could play newer stuff,I just settled with WoW because it ran great on my rig and enjoyed playing it with my son.Fallout 3 and Oblivion are on my list, might check out CoD too.So far I've played the Demigod demo and some Stormrise(came with the vid card) and just been enjoying games that aren't a MMO.ArmA 2 also looks interesting.

Yeah, ArmA 2 does look good, but I usually have about a 6 month lag time behind releases before I get to them.
