You probably could trim the plastic around your current connector about 1/8"-1/4" without exposing any contacts to the the extra space (I'd remove the wires first). I'm the crazy kind of person that would either cut part of the case away or mod the video card myself, but I'd start with the connector.

its for my media pc and the PS is in the way. I was replacing my 8600 gt w/ my now not needed 8800 gt and it is just 1/2" too long.

Havent looked much else into it also...but I was thinking that if nothing comes up.

Just got a BR drive for the system. :)

I shoved it in...and it works. UPGRADE!

not it is a media PC.

nvidia 8800gtoc
amd 4800+
BR drive/dvd burner
dvd burner
2 x 1tb drives
2gb ram
vista ultimate

runs quiet when not playing a crazy game.

What is the purpose of a "media pc"?

I have two media PCs (both are small Shuttle PCs). I use them exclusively as media players and DVRs for my livingroom and bedroom TVs. They have Windows XP Media Center installed.

I have one connected to my 50" TV, that I use to stream downloaded movies from my file server and surf on it, using a wireless keyboard/mouse. I don't mess around with using it as a DVR, Tivo is much easier.
