Is Norton Internet Security 2008 worth installing? I heard it can severely lower the speed of your computer.

Norton is a major resource hog and very slow. You may want to check out
Avast or
AVG Antivirus. Both are free. For paid AV, I recommend
Kaspersky or
NOD32.

Norton is like owning a Hummer. It may seem cool for a moment, then you realize how big and bulky it is, gas for it becomes too much, and you can never manage to park it right.

I think everything has been said, so I'll just say ditto. Ditched Norton about 3 years ago & haven't looked back. AVG is my friend.
