i just got a set of klipsch cs-300 2.1 speakers for my rig. they come with 2 satellite's and a base and remote controller .i got a extra 2 controls anyway thats nothing and not the problem . theres also a a unit called a virtual speaker . here is were im at .this may be a bit hard to follow so i go step by step below .
1ST ran right and left speaker wires to the base and satellite speakers with leads supplyed by klipsch.
2nd ran the power lead feed from the base to the virtual speaker unit that sits on the desk !
3rd attached the dual feed cable with red and white male adapter ends from the virtual speaker box thats on my desk but used a 2 adapter male wire using gold barrow connectors to a dual male lead with one single male on the other end .
4th i connected this wire to the green input jack on my sound card (the input jack )
im not getting any sound from my computer . any ideas what i should do ?
im running windows xp .and this is onboard sound on the mother board .
i do have a sound blaster live card i could install .
but i know how ever /what ever i do for speaker wires im going to have to use barrow connectors or hit radiocrap and see if they have 2 strands of leads with a both male ends .but the one's that connects to the virtual speaker box. need to be the large head type that go into the unit and wrap around the imput addapter !.
what you guys think .
ps.i checked klipsch web sight and not found a listing for this computer speaker setup .it did come from there product development unit .

I don't understand exactly how you're connecting the computer to the input on the "virtual" speaker/amplifier. If the speaker/amp input is a red and a white RCA jack (for left and right) then you need an RCA stereo to 1/8" mini stereo patch cable to connect it to the PC (which should have come with the speakers.
From your description it sounds like you're splicing the audio inputs together in some bizarre way.
Even without the remote speakers connected, you should hear something from the bass speaker if the inputs are hooked up right.
The remote speakers are usually just bare wires - you can use any stranded pair of wires even lamp cord. Or do your speakers have jacks of some kind on them?
I'd just put all the speakers on a table and wire them together for testing, and connect them to an iPod or something just to test them out. Once it's all checked out and you know it works then you can set the speakers up where they're supposed to go.
I am assuming, of course, that you've confirmed that the sound works on the PC? All you need to do is plug a pair of earphones into the green jack on the PC to confirm it works. If it works, then there's nothing wrong with the sound card.
