Well I got some extra cash to spend on myself for christmas and Im at a loss of what kinda comp "gadget" I want to spend it on. Im still using an old Samsung 19 LCD and 7800gt video card. I upgraded mobo/proc/mem/hdd already. If you had about 300$ to spend on an upgrade what would you choose?
LCD
Or a 8800gt 512 when they available again?

If I were you, I would go to the for sale or trade section of the forum and make a bid on that 57 year old restorable antique.

I dunno if DX10 is that big of a need just yet.. I'd honestly try to get a little more $$ saved up to go with it and get a BIG LCD

I have a 32" Vizio and it runs 1360x768 with no ghosting.. I Love It!

I think that's a generation or two newer than mine.. They change every few months.. Mine is about 1yr old. But the specs are all the same.. I play HL2, WoW, EVE and a few other games on it with no ghosting.

I'd keep my eye open for a nice LCD TV, they work great as a monitor, for gaming or anything. If it was just between the monitor and the video card, it would depend on what you make use of most. Monitors have dropped in price and will always be cheap, but the lifespan fo video cards is erratic, something better might come out next month for all we know.
