2 sided book printing? Color Laser or inkjet?

I been thinking of a color laser before long, but not sure.
What I want to do is run off some small books, two sided printed, 8.5x11, lots of black text and quite a few color pictures of various sizes. Not sure about binding yet, probably just 3 hole binders for now.
This is like a "How To" type book if I get it finished and I would like the photos to look nice. I could maybe convert them to Grayscale but I'd rather do color. And these are photo's not drawings so just true black only like text wouldn't work.
No idea yet how many pages per book, probably around 30 printed sides, 15 sheets, maybe more.
Of course I want something that will last a long time and not too costly to use that does really good printing, near photo would be good. Photo would be better.
Probably won't be too many books printed this way often, if I need a ton of one book later I'll take the file to a printer for real books.
I have a Canon IP4200 inkjet that does duplex printing. I like it the way it prints one side and feeds the sheet back for the second side automatically. Only problem is I am getting too much bleed through the paper I been using for double sided printing or it would probably work ok for this.
I think it's Great White 20lb I was using by Gorgia Pacific. Only thing I have locally is Wal-mart so I buy what they have
If anyone knows alot better paper for 2 sided printing that don't cost a fortune I can always order a box online from Staples, Office max, or where ever. Haven't yet since I don't know what to order.
