Opinions welcome, starting to build a new gaming rig. Looking to start with the mobo and processor. Suggestions welcome!!!!!

i vote for an athlon 64 X2/socket 939 setup. there's a pretty good price break going on with those at the moment.

Look at the socket 939 mainboards, DFI and Gigabyte make good boards, but anything with NForce4 chipsets (depending on your budget and needs) tend to do well.

Make sure you plan ahead for your video card, though.

pick up one or two of the 7200.10 seagate 320GB sata2 drives at newegg ($90 on sale now!)...excellent deal and good performance out of them.

I think it is a one day sale but a perpendicular drive, 7200, 16meg SATA3.0, 320Gigs for $94 ... Hard to pass up.
