Is there such a thing?

I think some of the first generation P4s may have had a 133 FSB. Most of those were also designed around that worthless RDRAM that's not worth upgrading. Those things were actually slower than high-end P3's. Gateway built a lot of them.

Yes the Williamette flavor on RDRAM Socket 423.

I can't tell how many of those Gateway systems I come across here. People can't believe that it costs so much to upgrade the RAM. I just walk in the office, shake my head, and say "Buy a new PC - it's cheaper than a RAM upgrade".

That's assuming you can even find it. Not even Crucial sells it.

Yah, I was going to replace the RAM in a clients PC one time as it was bad.. But it was RDRAM, $200 for 512MB at the time.. I ended up building her another..

If memory serves me correctly the P4 FSB speeds were:
4x100
4x133
4x200
4x266.
I think they had some that used normal memory and some that used RDRAM.
My P4 2400 used conventional memory and was 4x133.

Sort of. the "533 MHz FSB" Pentium 4 uses a 133 MHz clock for the FSB, and the data lines are quad-pumped (4 transfers per clock,) so the effective bandwidth is equal to a true 533 MHz bus.

If you're asking whether there was a P4 with a plain SDR 133 MHz bus like the PIII, then no.

Well if you're if there's a P4 made that uses PC133 RAM the answer is yes, because I found one today. Working on a client's Compaq that needed some more RAM (only has 256Mb running XP) and was suprised to find it used PC133 SyncRAM not DDR or RDRam.

Wow... that's deffinetly what I needed to know. I need to find one of them >.<

Slow piece of crap though. Okay for a file server which is what they were using it for.

The original Pentium 4 which was Socket 423 was 100mhz. It was never available in a DDR platform, unless that is your used a converter to put it in on Socket 478 board.

It was available for PC133 SDRam platforums and PC800 RDRam platforms. There wasn't alot of boards made for SDRam at that time as Intel was pretty much trying to push Rambus technology which ultimately failed because of price.

Safe to say, if you see one of these, just think to yourself about how lucky you are about not owning one.

SDRAM didn't appear on the P4 until the 845 chipset, which came about after Socket 423 was dropped. There might have been a few third party mobo makers who used the combo, but I don't think Intel ever did.
