Tried an opteron in my MSI motherboard to test out, worked great and then got the asus and switched back to the old 3500 and now getting errors in IE6 when I open more than one window. Its as if it cant handle more than one window before giving an error in IE6 and shutting the window etc.
Can I reinstall IE6? Any other suggestions.
Great cpu btw, did 270 x 9 in the msi default voltage and heatsink.

Changing the CPU should have had no effect on that. Must be a coincidence. There was a Windows update 3 weeks ago that screwed up a lot of computers.
If you're running XP then use system restore to go back to a restore point before the problem started.
Hope this helps...

I should've mentioned I'd done system restore about a month ago with some other problems. Its the family computer but 90% my wife and I just go on to run av and catch up on mail.
Its running fine today? Could be my lame dialup which is all I can get out in the country or something my wife did, although she never admits it
I built and looked after her moms computer for many years and she was always complaining she couldn't get on different websites or the dialup was kicking her off and when I'd check it always ran fine after anti virus, spybot, defrag etc for me but would go 'bad' again right after I left & her other daughter would 'fix' it for her.
She got a new computer, a Dell so I'm off the hook now.
