SATA or ATA ?

Can i use a regular HDD on a motherboard that is SATA compliant?

I would like to reuse my old HDD and maybe later on upgrade to a SATA drive. Am i able to do that?

I'm using two standard IDE drives on a motherboard with SATA built in - and am having no problems.

most people have both on the system. Not many CD roms are SATA yet ;)
