finding a ip..........

is there a way to find a ip on a computer

that has no vid hooked up to it

a few options:

--ping it by name
--check your routers LAN status...all connected clients are logged

there is no router looked up to it

its just goin strate to the net

i tryed my its name \\server2

no luck

no way unless it's hooked up internally, or you have set up the computer to be an ftp/http server.

if you don't have a static ip, you could use a remote dns service like dynu or dyndns which gives you a fixed ip to point to, the service can detect ip changes and stay connected to the remote machine.
