ps 24pin to 20 pin conversion ?

is there anyway to swap a 24 pin to a 20 . i have a asus k8v mb i need to swap power supplys on and i hate to buy a new one for when i have like 3 good 24 pin pin power supplys sitting here on a shelf also my case is a pain to get ps out of with my heat sink . so i just like to swap connectors ! and use what i just installed in there . as moving the connector over as was told didnt do it and there is a cap in the way to move it the other way if that would of worked anyway . i check later what power supply i got in the unit right now and post it if that help ! so i know what pins to move if this can be done that is !

You sure the extra 4 pins aren't removable? Many of the 24 pin PSUs I've used allow you to just unclip the extra 4 pins (they come off as a seperate 4 pin molex plug).
You could use a razor saw to cut off the end of the plug with the extra 4 pins. Just make sure you cut off the right end and don't damage any of the wires.

don't know where you are.. but here in Lubbock. and other places I have been.. most computers stores carry the 24 to 20 pin adapters.. and you can find them on the web. check like Antec's site. and I know newegg has them..

Damn, thats a shame cause I got a brand new thermarltake 420 sitting in the closet and I need a 24 pin for my gaming rig (using 20-24 pin adapter). Use the adapter cause the psu I am using right now is a 520w which works mucho better for my sli. Whats the power rating of the 24 pin psu's you got?
