Recently, my AthlonXP 3000+ rig has been giving me huge problems. After a lot of troubleshooting, I traced it to the motherboard. Sadly, I don't have an extra Socket A mobo, and I'm broke as hell. So I have to switch to an old Pentium 4 2.4GHz rig for a while.

How should I go about this? Do I have to reinstall windows and everything? I finally have everything set up the way I like it. If I use Driver Cleaner to uninstall everything, then reinstall, should I be safe?

You could probably get away with a repair install.. But not sure if it would be the smoothest transition ever.. GL

It greatly helps if you disable or remove most of the hardware (audio, nics, modems, etc) before doing the repair install - it usually goes smoother. Then enable your devices and install updated drivers afterwards.

You should also make sure the system is completely virus and spyware free before attempting a repair install or it will likely fail.
