I hate storage

This is more of a vent than anything. I apparently lost my 3ware 7500-4 today. Out of no where it started giving me PCI errors then it looked as if it broke up my array. I tried the standard stuff, differnt slot, different cables and such, no luck. While when I first started trouble shooting this it would still post but then every other boot the card wouldn't even do its thing after the main bios. I'm fairly sure its a loss.
Thankfully I have a 7500-8 in my file server, attached all the drives, was surprised they worked perfectly. Copied the data and now I have to rethink my choice of RAID card. I've never had a piece of hardware fail after only 4 years. So maybe this can be a good thread. Should I just eat it and go SCSI if I want reliability or does anyone know of a really good card that can do RAID 5 and works in linux.
I'm just surprised it was the card and not the drives at first I thought maybe I lost two drives I hadn't been checking to make sure it was in good health so that was entirely possible.
