hey

i want to restore my pc to what it was when when i bought it hence with only windows on it because its is ****ed programs dnt work and it take agis to boot up. i have a restore cd but it sucks some trex ****.

Ummm.... I don't understand the question.

erm...either format and install fresh OS, or use the restore cd, dont know why you posted the GFX spec.

ok i was in a rush last time i want to delete every thing off my pc apart from the os and i cant get the restore cd to work

Delete everything except the OS? Not really possible. You can uninstall drivers and apps individually through the control panel but you'll never end up with a clean OS unless you do a clean install.

I assume this an OEM system like an eMachine or HP or you wouldn't have a Recovery CD. Do you only have a recovery CD or do you also have a seperate OS disc?

In what manner doesn't the recovery CD work? The instructions are usually printed on it. Most of the time you just boot with the CD in the drive. BIOS (before the Windows logo) may prompt to ask if you want to boot off the CD - usually you press any key to do so otherwise it will boot from the hard drive.

Be aware that using the recovery CD will completely erase the hard drive and you will lose ALL your data. Backup any important data to media off the drive first.

its a t-rex version 1.6 restore cd and i cant get it to work i go in to cd rom and double click it and it sais "cant boot from cd-rom code 1 then an other error comes up

I have no idea what a "t-rex" is - that doesn't tell me if you have an OEM system like a HP, Compaq etc.

- What brand and model computer do you have?

- What does the System Restore CD say on it? Usually it says "Recovery CD" or "System Recovery". It may just be a driver CD which won't do you any good - you'll need to use a Windows installer CD instead.

If it's a true system restore CD you DO NOT run it from Windows. You boot from the CD. There should be instructions on the CD.

Put the CD in the drive, reboot and if it asks if you want to boot from the CD say yes.

AGAIN LET ME WARN YOU (since you don't appear to be reading replies in their entirety) will lose EVERYTHING on the drive, so backup any important data first.
