That is good news. I used to buy Maxtors, but not since they offered only a 12 month warranty. When I built my rig last year, I switched to Seagate with their 5 yr warranty. Both 120 gig drives work great and I never had an issue with them.

The only downside to this: less choices for consumers which might lead to price increases? Personally, I rather spend a few extra bucks and get a quality built drive. That is why I still use SCSI to this day. I never had a SCSI drive fail on me, but IDE is a different story. Can't comment on SATA since I don't use them.

Seagate always has done good by me, never had a drive of theirs fail yet, with other manufacturers, its another story.
