is the "no shake feature" good?

Can't help you in deciding a camera, but I will tell you that the "no shake" feature is an excellent feature to have. When we used Sony Handycams(i think that's what they're called) for class, the "no shake" feature provided a night and day difference in videos.

I have a JVC MiniDV cam and I've been super happy with it. Easy transfers to the PC via FireWire.. I would just recommend that you do get a MiniDV cam if you get anything.
