how di i instal a new power unit and do u have to buy a specific power unit

pretty easy to install - you just unhook the old one...take it out..and reverse

if you have an older dell you might need to get a compatible unit because the pins are different....for a new one get at least the same rated wattage or better and buy a decent one (enermax, antec, etc) and not some cheapy off brand like a PCBUSER FLYING PLATINUM DRAGON 500W for $19.99 :)

for modern systems you should be looking at 350W+ depending on what you're running
