Dual Monitor problem

I read an article in a magazine recently and decided to try to connect my LCD TV to my PC as a second monitor. I bought a new Video Card (Radeon 7000), installed it and connected my LCD. The LCD works fine but my original monitor fails to display anything unless I remove the video card? It seems to make my new screen the default one and I can't find a way to enable the existing monitor?
I have a Sony Vaio LX-2 with XP which has a very unique monitor connector (the screen has speakers and mouse, keyboard and USB ports) so even if I had a Dual VGA Card I still wouldn't be able to connect my original screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The ideal way to use dual monitor is to buy a card that has a dual head.
However you can also use 2 seperate cards (usually). Go into display properties -> settings. There should be 2 monitors displayed. Click on the 2nd monitor and check the box "Extend my windows desktop onto this monitor"

It shows two monitors but both the drivers in the drop down box are the new Radeon one, I've tried what you said, but still my original screen won't switch on?

Sounds like the 7000 is a dual head. If it is I don't think you can do dual monitor with it and another card. Not sure. Does the on-board card show up in device manager? It needs to in order to use it in dual monitor.
Does the Radeon 7000 have two monitor connectors? One may be a DVI connector and you'll need a DVI to SVGA adapter if you don't have a DVI monitor.
I'm not 100% certain that a Radeon 7000 support dual monitor though. It may with the latest drivers.
