viewsonic 27inch monitor/tv

i was wondering how this screen performs as both a monitor and a tv .i would like as many opinions on this as possible.this is the screen im talking about

Welcome to PCA, and you are one lucky bastard
for getting this monitor. Wow!
One issue I would think that might be a problem since the screen is so large is the distance from you to the screen. I would guess you probably need 5 or 6 feet from the screen or you are just too close. The 8ms response time is great. You might have issues running older games, as they will need to be run 4x3 with black bars.
