Intel D845WN MOBO Stopped Working

the pc was working, i took it apart and took everything out of the case and cleaned it
put everything back in and the only problem was the front panel pinout

i could not get the pc to turn on, cause the pinout on the intel website was wrong
so i just put the power switch jmper in different pins and then it worked

but it gave me a error, boot [something i dont remember] :: system halted

i took the memory out and put it in and out a few times, then i got the intel screen to show
but it just froze there, so i took the mem out and back in again checked all the pci cards

turned it off, from the psu switch
when i turned it back on from the psu switch the system turned on without me using the normal power button, i couldnt turn it off so i used the psu switch again and removed the pswitch jmper and turned it on and it still worked
so i connected the pswitch jmper back and then held the power button and that turned it off and solved the problem of it turning on with the psu switch

now when i turn it on i get 2 beeps and sometimes the screen says system halted and sometimes there is no video at all
the monitor does initalize though but shows nothing and goes to hibernate

i have the ati aiw 9800 as my only card, no other pci cards
2x 512 pc133 sticks

WELCOME TO PCA!

You said you took everything out of the case and cleaned it. HOW did you clean things? Blow it off, use some kind of solvent?

Did you remove the CPU heatsink? If so did you remove and replace the heat sink compound?

Are you sure there are no loose screws caught under the mobo?

- Make sure the CPU heatsink is fully seated
- Remove and then fully re-seat the video card
- Remove and re-seat the memory sticks
- You were in doubt about the front panel header. Are you certain you have it wired right now?

If none of the above helps, troubleshoot it:

Pull ALL cards except the video card, disconnect all cables except the mobo power cable and power switch jumper. Connect ONLY one memory stick. See if you can at least get it to POST this way. Swap memory sticks in case one is bad.

If it POSTs Then connect just the master HDD and see if it'll boot. Reconnect everything one by one.

Other possibilities:

- You may have cracked the mobo or one of the memory sticks. It's easy to crack the mobo if your memory sockets are tight and you have to push down hard to insert the RAM - nothing you can do about it if it's cracked.

- You may have scratched the mobo and damaged a trace - probably nothing you can do about this either unless you know where the damage is and take it to a pro.

- You may have damaged a capacitor on the mobo. Replaceable by a pro if you know which one.

Hope this helps.

i just took a long break and went back to it after the posts that were made

thx for those posts

however my system simply gives me 2 beeps and shows nothing on the screen

if i take the memory out it beeps several times, if i take the agp video card out it beeps several times as well with nothing on the screen obviously

i simply just took the parts out and blew air throughout the case, no other chemicals or anything had been used

the board doesnt seem to be damaged, i have done a few console modifications so i have limited electrical experience
but nothing seems out of the ordinary yet

the 2 beeps usually means memory, but i reseated them several times and put them in different slots too i did notice the dimm slot had a clip missing but i push the memory in harder as to make sure it is seated as far as possible
