hp pavilion ze5300 problem

its a laptop its had a fresh install 2 days ago after having this same error. its recently had a western digital hard drive installed. i dont know what the previous brand was. the error i get is

STOP: c0000221 unknown hard error
/systemroot/system32/ntdll.dll


its winxp home
memory and hdd tests pass.
any ideas?

Not sure. HPs have a crappy HDD interface connector. Sometimes I'll get a client's laptop that has a funky problem like this and just unplugging and then plugging the drive back in securely fixes it.
